Preserving Our Oceans Through Educating Our Children
What We Do
The Sand Dollar Guild is a group of dedicated volunteers who help raise funds for students to participate in the Ocean Institute’s marine science, maritime history, and outdoor education programs.
To date, the Sand Dollar Guild has raised over 1.4 million dollars, giving thousands of children the knowledge and inspiration to preserve our oceans.
Who We Are
We are a volunteer group within the Ocean Institute formed in 1988 to purchase the tall ship, Pilgrim, permanently on site at the Ocean Institute. Every year we support capital improvements, the purchase of new equipment or ongoing educational programs at the Ocean Institute. Currently, we support the ongoing operation of the Ocean in Motion vans, mobile laboratories for outreach to special needs and under-served students.
We Celebrated 30 Years!
