Meet the Sand Dollar Guild Team
The Sand Dollar Guild is a team of men and women who care about the ocean and the next generation who will care for it. We are your friends, your neighbors, your community.
Natalie has always been living at the ocean (even if it was just in her dreams). She has been living in Aliso Viejo since 2009 and has made this her new home, surrounded by her family. She has been a member of the Sand Dollars since 2012, beginning as a member, and has held several Board Member positions: Recording Secretary, Membership, and Treasurer. Natalie brings a wealth of management experience to the Sand Dollar Guild with a background in banking, restaurant and retail.
Moving from Chicago and saying goodbye to the cold weather resulted in my desire to live close to and enjoy the ocean. I became involved in the Sand Dollar Guild within 6 months of my relocation and have served as a Recording Secretary, President and currently a Co-Treasurer. My corporate background focused on sales and marketing and currently I teach at Concordia University within the MBA program, and at the University of California at Irvine in the Department of Continuing Education.
Marla has lived by the ocean since 2014 and enjoys being within walking distance of the beaches of Dana Point. She has been a member of the Sand Dollar Guild since 2016 and became a member because of the great works that the Sand Dollar Guild represents. The use of the Ocean in Motion Van to provide training to kids that cannot get to or ever see the ocean is amazing. This is such a worthwhile organization that is truly beneficial to everyone involved.
Kathi Bruz moved to California in 1981 and has enjoyed living by the ocean. She joined the Sand Dollar Guild last year and is the Recording Secretary. Being raised by a teacher, Kathi has always had a commitment to education. She has a background in account management in both real estate and the insurance industry.
Hi, my name is Kathy Scroggie. I joined Sand Dollars around 8 years ago after I retired from paid employment and became a Volunteer. After a few years of teaching 2nd grade, many more years of running a model home design business, we moved to Laguna Niguel, where I fell n love with the ocean. After another 12 years in sales at Design Center Associates, I was really ready to do something that was both ocean loving and educational. Sand Dollars was the perfect combination. I’ve met wonderful friends, served on the Board and done a lot of fundraising for a great cause. Along with having fun, we make a difference.
